Smoothwater Bay – Stafford Hut Loop
Trip Overview
Come join me on a coastal adventure to explore the area south of Jacksons Bay near Haast, we will head to the Smoothwater for a night camping and then travel along the coast down to Stafford Hut. This trip will require a medium fitness level and some back country skills. It will be an adventure with river crossings and beach coastal travel. We will need a calm sea day to get around the coastline to the 6 bunk Stafford Hut otherwise the backup option, if the seas are rough, will be the inland route both in and out to Stafford Hut.
