The calculator below will help you plan your trip for the club. You can either use it for planning or prior to departure to advise members the finalised cost for them participating on the trip.
No. Of Participants: You should know this by the Wednesday before your trip departure.
Days Away: Day trips = 1, Overnight tramps =2, Long Weekend = 3 etc..
No. Of Vehicles: Think about comfort and distance, cramming 5 people into an estate car with 5 large packs to go 2 hrs in a car may not be comfortable. But for a day walk with small packs should be fine. Also are the participants approved club drivers?
Current Fuel Price: This can be gotten from the GASPY app, if you don't have it, simply download it to your phone. Your benchmark fuel price is at the NPD in Hokitika. Your drivers should be encouraged to use RON 91 fuel or Diesel.
Total Km's Travelled: Get onto google maps and enter your start and end point. For Example if you are starting at the BP Fitzherbert Street, Hokitika and going to Reefton then your outward travel will be 115km so your total return kms are 230km's.
